The Economic Times has reported that the state owned gas distributing company Gail, is in talks to purchase equity stakes in Chevron’s Gorgon project.
According to the publication an unnamed executive confirmed that the company is “keen to pick up an equity stake in Chevron's Gorgon LNG plant in Australia”, as well as their LNG plant in Algeria.
However, a spokesperson from Gail later confirmed that the company was in talks to secure supply of LNG from multiple companies, not equity stakes.
