No Cost Increase for Gorgon Project
Chevron is not currently predicting a cost increase of its Gorgon LNG project. The project is approaching 30 percent completion and is set to cost the company $37 billion dollars.
Vice Chairman George Kirkland said on Monday that Australia’s natural resource projects have been under cost pressure this year because of a massive pipeline of projects and a shortage of skilled labour.
Chevron expects that 90 percent of gas that is produced through their Wheatstone project will be sold through long term contracts that they expect to secure over the coming years.
